Lionsden Kitchen
The Lionsden is a ground breaking beer garden kitchen. A concept designed to produce tasty, simple, nourishing, homemade food, all prepared and cooked by our own team of Ukrainian cooks.
Although compact, the kitchen produces a no frills Ukrainian menu, as well as a selection of traditional pub grub, including a ‘best ever’ smashed burger and a signature Sunday roast. It also caters for special one off events.

Welcome to the original Lionsden, where less is more and taste is everything. Each dish is handpicked and crafted with bold ingredients that spark conversation and deliver flavour with flair. Think of it as our chef's current favourites that he thinks are worth talking about. Whether you're popping in for a quick bite or settling in for a long lunch, these plates will hit the spot.




Ukrainian Menu
During weekdays, we offer a unique opportunity to sample a menu of authentic Ukrainian food, prepared and cooked by our own kitchen team from locally sourced ingredients.
Dishes include baked avocado vodka egg, deruny, shuba, ribeye borscht and Kachca (duck breast). For pudding share a Medovik honey cake.

Sunday Roast
Sunday is of course not a Sunday without a Sunday roast, even better served up at The Red Lion, a traditional pub, of real log fires and a warm welcome.
Only the best locally produced Hagbourne Hill Charolais beef or Watlington rolled shoulder of pork will do. This is how a succulent Sunday roast should be, full of the best flavours, rich in taste.

Christmas Menu
Our Red Lion Christmas menu is unashamedly modest with a balance of all things traditionally British complimented by a good dose of Ukrainian style.
There’s a baked avocado vodka egg starter with the usual butter roasted Oakham Turkey or Katchca duck breast, all served with roasters, carrot and parsnip purèe, chestnut sprouts and bread sauce. There’s a Christmas pudding, or even better, a Medovik signature honey cake sharer.
The Christmas menu is available throughout November and December for parties of eight or more, 2 courses £30, or 3 courses for £38. Bookings for lunch or dinner.
