Sharers 

We have a meat of fish sharer. The fish sharer comprises rollmop herring, smoke salmon, brown crab and chunky tarter sauce with olive ciabatta bread

A superfood salad of four lettuce leaves, pomegranate, water melon, edamame beans draped in a grilled fillet of Scottish salmon or halloumi fries.

Drink

Traditional ales include Rebellion IPA and Brakspear’s Gravity known locally as ‘Boys’. An all new cellar system has been installed for extending and rotating a selection of guest ales, lagers and ciders.

Enjoy some refreshing tasting notes by John for his wider selection of affordable old and new world wines.  For that special occasion spoil yourselves with wines from The Red Lion selection of ‘Six of The Best’ magnums.

Overnight guests enjoy our Red Lion breakfast of homemade muesli with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs to accompanied by a selection of teas and coffees.

Lionsden garden kitchen

We aim to serve good quality traditional pub food without the fuss.  We support local producers where possible and are building up our network of local suppliers. On this basis do please let us know of any produce you would like to recommend.

Fine tuning our food offering based on experience and feedback now includes a Lionsden ‘plat du jour‘ option for sharing a pot of our homemade coq au vin or beef stroganoff.

Sunday Roast of locally sourced meats within 3 miles of The Red Lion for succulent sirloin beef and shoulder of pork.

Booked in advance, our garden kitchen can cater for dietary requirements.

For private and larger events we can apply to extend our licensed hours.

We are slowly refurbishing and remodelling the pub. Where possible we are re using existing furniture. 

Our new piano and wine bar area has been decorated and remodelled.  

A log burner has been installed in ‘Katies Corner‘ for diners to enjoy a warmer atmosphere. 

Our integrated B&O audio system provides an interesting selection of retro vinyl and CD music.
